Personal Stories: Tell Us Your Story - forwarded message
Personal Stories Anonymous writes "At Crystal Meth Victoria we appreciate your letters and stories because we KNOW how hard it is to live in the land of Crystal Meth. Whether you are a user, recovering addict, a parent or a sibling, we hear you!
We know that you need someone to listen, and we will continue to raise awareness, educate, fundraise and provide outreach support until we have more detox beds on demand, more supported recovery, more help for families, the ephedrine behind the pharmacy counter and new legislation increasing the penalties for selling and manufacturing it.

IF YOU ARE THINKING OF TRYING CRYSTAL, KNOW THAT SOME KIDS WHO HAVE USED ONLY ONCE ARE STILL HEARING VOICES SIX MONTHS LATER. PLEASE LOOK AT OUR BRAIN SCAN SHOWING THE FOREST FIRE OF DAMAGE SIMILAR TO ALZHEIMERS WITH HEAVY USE. REMEMBER YOUR BRAIN IS STILL DEVELOPING. KNOW THAT ONCE YOU START IT IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO STOP!

We are hoping that communities all over BC will add their resources and their voices to this central site so that we can continue to keep the problem in front of the public about the devastation that this drug is causing, on every level. We will soon be creating a Victoria community task force made up of social service providers, educators, health officers, justice officials, First Nations leaders, the public and former crystal meth involved youth. They will have 30 days to complete a plan of action and another 60 days to implement change. We are all about action not talk! We cannot continue to lose our young people to this drug without doing something NOW!

Please continue to tell your stories. Only by speaking out will we raise awareness to the crystal crisis in our midst.
