West Shore RCMP nabbed two men and nearly a kilogram of meth after a months-long investigation into drug trafficking.

West Shore and Sidney/North Saanich RCMP picked up the two 20-year-old men as they drove off the ferry in Swartz Bay on Friday.

The men were found with 980 grams of meth worth about $25,000 and a large amount of cash, said Cpl. Scott Hilderley.

The suspects currently live in Saanich but are former West Shore residents. “The investigation was extensive. Our interest doesn’t wane because the suspects move away,” Hilderley said.

James Cody Patterson and Tory Bourke Stewart have been charged with possession of controlled substances for trafficking.
