This is Breony Ayers here, from the Cool-Aid Society. Crystal Meth is an expanding problem on Vancouver Island and we need to do something about it.
The website of Crystal Meth Victoria is a great resource for people living in Victoria, and throughout BC. As crystal meth is a newer drug to our streets, people are not aware of the help that they can receive for their addiction or a loved ones. We have put your website information up on each of our public computers in our Downtown Community Centre on Pandora Avenue. Our computer room gets lots of use from tenants and the street community and many of them have or have had substance abuse issues.
Because you are introducing Meth Watch to stores and pharmacies within the school districts you will also stop kids from experimenting with the recipes to make crystal meth at home.
The joint task force you plan is a great way to educate the community and start to combat the spread of this addiction. As you know, in one way or another it affects us all.
