It is never too early or too late to start.

In the last year I have survived an overdose, endured drug related seizures, given up my alcohol and drug (meth and cocaine) addiction, completed a rehab program, learned to deal with my mental illness, returned to school, mended many broken relationships, come back from a brain injury, and begun to deal with my (almost 8 year battle) with eating disorders.

I have been through a lot of therapy, and given up my embarrassing addiction to laxatives. This year I plan to continue on with my recovery in life and finally give up my "iron-clad" relationship with my eating disorder, and "kick the nic" (stop killing myself by smoking my lung darts - "cigs").

I am alive today and with each baby step I am proving to myself that one person really can make a difference, and that it is possible to turn your life around, no matter how "far gone" people say you are. I am living proof that people do recover, and that it is never too early or too late to start.

Sincerely yours, Amanda, Age 18
