Forget Her - Recovered addict''s poem

She smiles, that intriguing smile, so inviting,
so tempting, so exciting, just once.
Was it good, did it feel so nice?
Did she make your head spin, such ecstasy?
Last so long, go for days,
Have you found a friend, a comfort?
Spun, so fast, so lost...so amazing.
She teases, she flirts, she won''t let you go.
Though her smile, is now yours, and she has you.
Are you stuck in her crooked world?

Tweaked on that feeling, on the high she provides,
Time? None. It''s slipped by.
Talk without speaking, it''s all a blur, just the moment.
She winks, she''s won, and you belong to her.
Are you strong enough, can you leave?
It''s been months, you''ve lost yourself.
Look in the mirror, who''s looking back?
That smirk, that wink, that hold she has.
She got you, she tricked you, she played her game.
Can you find her truth, beyond her beauty?
The darkness, and pain she carries.
She''ll use you, and lose you, then find another.
So many wait to meet her, try her.
She had me, I escaped her evil,
now to think of her makes me ill.
It took so long, but I won that game,
I left her, I forgot her, found myself again.
It seems scary to leave, but she is what scares,
escape and you''ll find out who really cares.
If you wonder who I speak of, I wish her death,
first name Crystal, last name Meth.

This poem was written on my one year anniversary being clean off meth, and tomorrow will be my two year. February 9, 2006
