Provides drug prevention resources to BC schools and communities. Produces programs for school-aged children and youth. Offers workshops for parents ( Parents as Preventors ), and for teachers and health professionals ( Professionals as Preventors ). Also offers Women and Alcohol on Campus , a resource for peer educators on post-secondary campuses. Develops and implements education programs for police, youth, parents, and women. Offers print and video resources for parents in various languages. Lobbies for responsible government policy regarding alcohol and drug issues. Produces the quarterly newsletter 'Newslink'. Sponsors the Pacific Institute on Addiction Studies , an annual training conference for addiction service providers.

Surveillance system on substance use 
Description: CCENDU was established in response to a 1995 feasibility study that identified the need for a Canada-wide surveillance system on substance use. Spearheaded by the Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse (CCSA) and guided by a steering committee, CCENDU is a collaborative project involving federal, provincial, and community agencies, with intersecting interests in drug use, health and legal consequences of use, treatment, and law enforcement. Its strategic vision is: "A partnership to monitor emerging drug trend and associated factors".

East Side Pride 
Description: A sucessful community association that has worked to clean up neighbourhood that was victim of drugs and related activity. This was accomplished through partnerships and education. This group is recognixed provincialy and is still very active today.
